Delicate Arch is a 52-foot-tall freestanding natural arch; the arches are formed first by cracks created by shifting underground salt layers and then through the erosion and weathering of sandstone over millions of years.
Arches was first established as a national monument in 1929 before being upgraded to a national park on November 12, 1971.
Arches National Park is often used as a symbol of Utah, representing its rugged beauty and connection to its natural landscapes; Delicate Arch in particular is featured on the state's license plates.
Can you count all of the arches found in this design? The typeface and its placement contain many arches, but can't compete with the more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches found in the park, the highest density of natural arches in the world.
